How I work

At Union Wine Company, I'm the only full-time marketer, working with two part-time teammates and reporting directly to the owner. On a team that small, the job is less about any single channel and more about building systems that let a few people do the work of many.

A big part of that is AI. I built brand hubs in Claude for the company's brands. Each one holds a brand's voice, product details and guidelines, so the whole team can draft on-brand copy from day one. The team uses them to personalize sales decks for each retailer and distributor, to run content from a single source, and to turn reports from multiple platforms into one clear picture. Sales decks that took a day to tailor now take under an hour.

AI handles first drafts and repetitive work. Everything is reviewed and edited by a person before it goes out, and the time saved goes to strategy, creative and the calls that need judgment.

The rest of the system is built to match. Projects run through Asana, from brief to approval to launch. Design happens in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva, and email in Mailchimp. Whether it's a new ad platform or a new workflow, I start small, measure what works, and move time and budget toward it.

I'm Silke Anuhea Schuh. I spent seven years building Union Wine Company's brands online, one site at a time, and then led the project that brought them all together. Today I own the portfolio's ecommerce, marketplace presence, paid media and brand voice.

I came to marketing through design. Over twelve years I've built websites at Needmore Designs, shipped content across a twenty-city network at DoStuff Media, and run ecommerce and product photography for MadeHere. Before any of it, I worked at Ace Hotel Portland, handing city knowledge to travelers.

That last part stuck. I'm now an independent travel advisor with Fora and a photographer whose work runs through both halves of this site. At Union Wine Company, I creative direct the brand shoots, and when a scene needs a person, I'm often the one in it.

I live on a farm west of Portland with two kids and a camera. I overpack, and I keep a standing list of places I haven't been yet.

Silke is German and pronounced Silk-uh. My middle name, Anuhea, is Hawaiian and means a cool mountain breeze.
